The National Cadet Corps (NCC) in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on their achievements in the corps.
Enrolment Procedures in NCC:
(i) To develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline and Leadership
(ii) To create a human resource of Trained, Motivated and well Organized youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.
(iii) to grow positive thinking and attitude to the youths.
(iv) To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
(v) To reach out to the maximum youths through various institutions and provide necessary training.
(vi) To make NCC as an integral part of the society.
(vii) To make NCC as one of the best cohesive force of our nation irrespective of any caste, creed, religion or region.(viii) To provide an ideal platform for the youth to show their potential in nation building.
NCC unit of Kaliyaganj College was started in 2006. Every year, all first year/semester students are eligible to apply for enrolment as NCC cadets. They attend camps in various places and participate in republic Day Parades. The NCC unit of this college organize various programmes in and outside the college campus throughout the entire academic session. Students are instructed to contact NCC Associate officer for enrolment.
Kaliyaganj College welcomes first semester students to register their names as NCC cadets. The intake capacity is 160 in total with the male and female cadets. To register their names, students are advised to contact with Associate NCC Officer.
